    About Acceptance Rate Calculator

    An acceptance rate is a ratio or percentage of applicants that get accepted into a program. Generally, this term is used for college admission, but it can be used for jobs and other memberships as well.

    Formula for Calculating Acceptance Rate

    The following formula is used to calculate the acceptance rate of a college or other program that has an application to get in. Below is the formula to use when calculating the acceptance rate.

    AR = TA / AC *100

    The term above is been explained below

    • Where AR is the acceptance rate (%)
    • TA is the total number of applicants
    • AC is the total number of accepted individuals

    How to use the Formula to calculate the Acceptance Rate

    Using the formula AR = TA / AC *100 to calculate the acceptance rate, Below are some equations given;

    First, determine the total number of applicants. For this example, we are looking at a large college based in the united states. The total number of applicants, in this case, was found to be 250,000.

    Secondly, determine the total number of individuals that were accepted. Being the prestigious school that it is, this college only accepted 5,000 students.

    With the aid of the formula ( AR = TA / AC *100 )

    AR = 5,000/250000*100

    = 2%
